OpEd: Bush The Incompetent
You know that when an opinion article begins with this paragraph, you're in for a good ride:
Incompetence is not one of the seven deadly sins, and it's hardly the worst attribute that can be ascribed to George W. Bush. But it is this president's defining attribute. Historians, looking back at the hash that his administration has made of his war in Iraq, his response to Hurricane Katrina and his Medicare drug plan, will have to grapple with how one president could so cosmically botch so many big things -- particularly when most of them were the president's own initiatives.Oh yes. History will remember Bush The Incompetent. His theft of the 2000 election. His misguided use of the 9/11 tragedy as a power grab. His mishandling of the Iraq War. His piss-poor response to Hurricane Katrina. His cow-towing to the Right Wing to get elected in 2004, only to turn his back on them. His appointment of Alberto "Gonzo" Gonzales as Attorney General and the subsequent Witch Hunts his DoJ has enacted. And of course, his 100% illegal policy of spying on American Citizens.
