A Lie A Day: Most police states developed by promising security, at the expense of liberty. It is now clear that this is the path that Bush has taken. And finally, 1 Boring Old Man reminds us about the rules regarding this matter.
Independent Report: But we'd rather people forget about all that Nazi stuff for a moment and get back to the matter at hand. Is wiretapping without a warrant illegal? It's a simple yes or no question. Also, could the NSA or another organization have requested warrants after the information was discovered? Yes or no?
We're going to be keep harping on these two questions because they lie at the heart of this debate. It doesn't matter if the President believes executive orders stand above the law--they do not. Someone broke the law, and until the law is changed, that person should be punished.
