Devo Releases New Material... For Disney?!?
How about that for an unholy alliance. Devo, who revolutionized "alternative/new wave" music in the 80s with such hits as "Whip It" and "Working In A Coal Mine," have reunited to record some covers of their old material, sung with kids. Kind of like those stupid "Kidz Bop!" CDs they push every 10 minutes on Cartoon Network and Nick. Despite the fact that they're working for the Kings of Public Domain Rip-offs, it does mark the first time in 20 years that Devo has recorded new material, with two brand new tracks appearing on the CD. I seriously hope the release kid-free versions of the new songs... (Link -- via BoingBoing)
