Getting Started: Derreck, Lennon and more...
Time to kick Blog Prophyts off with a few link posts for you all to salivate over on this fine Sunday morning. And awaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay we go...
First up is Derreck's account of a day in his life. Thrill to the excitment, the danger, the sex, and the drama of his all-too-often stressful, always action-packed day. (Link -- UPDATE! UPDATE!)
Next on the Prophyts' chopping block comes this must-have set of posts at BoingBoing recapping the entire Sony/BMG DRM debaucle. If you've bought any CDs distributed by any of Sony/BMG's daughter labels, you might want to check the CD jacket before you slap that puppy in your CD drive to rip it (which, by the way, is totally 100% legal to do) (Part I - II - III - IV). Be sure to stay tuned to BoingBoing and Blog Prophyts for more on this mess...
If the BoingBoing recaps aren't enough to kill some time, here's some somber trivia. This coming Thursday, December 8th, the world will mark 25 years to the day without the songwriting genius and vocal political presence that was, is, and always will be ex-Beatle John Lennon. A sad anniversary, really. Lennon really had a way of getting his message across through song, and co-wrote a whole mess of the Beatles' stuff (with Paul McCartney) to boot. Sadly missed all over the world, The Scotsman remembers. (Link)

A random Google Image Search (GIS) for the word "prophyt" reveals this fine little number right here (Link to image's owner). You know, ya gotta love it when GIS results for odd words you associate closely with return at least one hot woman. (Link)
On the Must See front, we've got Episode Zero of Radio Free Burrito, the podcast of one Wil Wheaton. Trust me. Once you hear this guy tell a story, you'll love it. I highly reccomend his books, too. But for now, you can all partake of the initial podcast in all it's proof-of-concept glory. Judging by the response Wil got, I'd say it'll become a regular occourance from here on... (Link - Afterthoughts)
And finally, this link. Stale and leftover from October, but still worth a read. (Link -- Originally via Fark)
